WALKING TOUR OF SAN ANTONIO
To earn this patch you must visit 10 places of interest - 5 of those bolded plus 5 others. Begin your walking tour by visiting THE VISITORS INFORMATION CENTER, 317 ALAMO PLAZA, (210) 207-6700. The order in which the sites are listed is a suggested route. Be sure to take the tax exempt # and necessary forms with you!

THE ALAMO - Visit the Long Barrack while there. See a 15 minute movie.
Cross Alamo Plaza and walk down to THE RIVER by the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
RIVER CENTER MALL
Take the SIGHTSEEING RIVERBOAT - Tour takes about 40 minutes. 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. (210) 244-5700 Call for current prices and information.

Walk along THE RIVER to the ARNESON RIVER THEATER.
LA VILLITA - See plaques on the outside wall of LA VILLITA ASSEMBLY HALL.
Down to MAIN PLAZA...COURTHOUSE.

SAN FERNANDO CATHEDRAL.
SPANISH GOVERNOR'S PALACE. (as of 7/02: $1.50 for adults, $.75 for children, call for group rates.)

EL MERCADO - Market Square.

Catch the VIA STREET CAR (Trolley Bus) and return to ALAMO PLAZA AND EAST COMMERCE STREET. Trolley fare is $.50 exact change. (Prices as of 4/96)

ST. JOSEPH'S DOWNTOWN CATHOLIC CHURCH - 623 East Commerce St. 227-0126.
* Complete the tour by walking to EL MERCADO and riding the VIA STREET CAR (Trolley Bus) back to Alamo Plaza and East Commerce Street. Then, proceed to the Hemisfair Plaza site.

* Maps of downtown San Antonio are available at the SAN ANTONIO VISITORS CENTER - 317 ALAMO PLAZA.
* For younger Girl Scouts, you may elect to do the tour in two days.
