homelessnessjbpgscsnj.jpgHomelessness Homelessness is a Junior Badge from the Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey Council.

Do five requirements, including the one starred.

  1. *Donate small items for families that are homeless.

  2. Have someone come in to talk to your troop or group about homelessness. What is it like? How does it feel? What are their lives like?

  3. Either take a homelessness quiz or make one up. How did you feel about doing it? What did you learn from it?

  4. What is the definition of homelessness? Who are the homeless? How many homeless people are there? Why are there so many people homeless? What are the problems of homeless children? What can be done about the homeless?

  5. Discuss and draw your own home, and what makes it special. Think of how it is different compared to a shelter.

  6. Find articles on homelessness. Report on it with a group of people, or on your own.

  7. If you were a homeless child, how might you feel different? Get with a group of people, and put on a skit, or create a script of one on your own.

  8. Make a poster to present to other Girl Scouts on what it is like to be homeless.
