Skill Builders

  1. Learn the difference between White Face, Auguste, and Tramp clowns. List what you like about each one.

  2. Learn about clown costumes and make-up. Assemble a clown costume for yourself and apply clown make up.

  3. Juggling is a skill used by many clowns. Learn to juggle with balls, scarves, rings, and/or clubs.

  4. Write and perform at least 3 skits that can be used while clowning.

Technology

  1. Find web sites with information about clown make-up, skits, training and supplies.

  2. Learn to do 3 magic tricks.

  3. Many clowns incorporate technology into their performance. Observe an act and list all technology used in the act.

Service Projects

  1. As a clown, entertain the residents in a nursing home.

  2. Teach younger Girl Scouts some clowing techniques.

  3. Teach something to other Girl Scouts through clowning.

  4. Do a "walk around" clowning at a community event.

Career Exploration

  1. Find out about Clown Camps, Clown Conventions, Clown College and other places that offer training.

  2. Talk to a professional clown about business opportunities.
