The An IT Look at Cell Phones IP is an interest project from the Girl Scouts of Colorado Council. It is part of the Girls Go Tech Interest Project Patches Series.

Explore the evolution of cell technology:

Learn

  1. Identify the difference between international cell phones and domestic US cell phones. (Resource: www.lodgephoto.com/articles/cellphones_europe.htm)

  2. Compare all available options on 3 different styles of cell phone, including voice and data, text messaging and photos.

  3. Research 3 cellular service providers in your area and identify the pros and cons of each provider.

Do

  1. Create a process to preserve pictures taken on a cell phone. Demonstrate text messaging and data applications available on a cell phone

  2. Explain the benefits of Blackberry’s and Trio’s as opposed to cell phones.

  3. Put on a workshop demonstrating the basic functions and features of cell phone.

    2. Work Environment

    3. Training

    4. Education

    5. Earnings

      Share what you have learned with your troop.

  1. Learn about the equipment manufactures and the technologies involved in cellular networks.

  3. Interview a radio frequency engineer and share what you have learned with the troop.
